I am a PhD student in economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At the highest level, I study ways to improve the lives and livelihoods of those affected by social boundaries, geographic or otherwise, in an age where borders are both increasingly fragile and protected. My ongoing projects are here.

Previously, I was a Research Associate at J-PAL Global, working with Professors Ben Olken (MIT), Rema Hanna (Harvard Kennedy School), and coauthors. Using a mix of RCTs, computer vision, atmospheric, and climate models, I worked on evaluating the impacts of social protection programs in South & Southeast Asia and estimating the consequences of environmental damages. I graduated from Amherst College in 2024 with a BA in economics and sociology, after briefly studying at the University of Tokyo in 2020.
